Dr John Featherstone, Dean of the UCSF School of Dentistry is promoting an approach that involves measuring a person’s risk for tooth decay. This focusing on carries prevention helps to reduce tooth decay in high risk patients. Dr. Wendell Evans from the University of Sydney has released a study that found that giving adults fluoride reduced the need for fillings by 30 to 50 percent.
